Bouchéesvar

I dag fick jag äntligen svar om Bouchéerna. Utförligt svar och palmoljan är certifierad, bra. Men lecitinet verkar vara en viktig ingeridens tyvärr.

Dear ms Wallenborg,

Thank you for your interest in our products.
As producer of chocolate products, we have taken our social responsibility and we do our best to produce our high quality products in a sustainable way.

This means that for our chocolates we use a lot of UTZ or FairTrade certified chocolates.
These websites will inform you on these sustainability programs:
www.utz.org
www.fairtrade.net

The palm oil you mention is needed to keep the filling of the bouchees soft and smooth. If we would use only cocoa butter, the filling would be really hard and not enjoyable.
All the palm oil we use is RSPO-certified. This means it is sustainable palm oil and therefor no forest is destroyed to grow this palm oil.
You can read further information about RSPO on their website:
www.rspo.org

Also we are trying to decrease the numer of ingredients in our products (clean label).
However this is not always easy because some ingredients are really necessary in our products. An example of this is lecithin (E322). This emulsifier is really needed to make our chocolate products, so we cannot remove this form our recipes.

We hope to have given you some usefull background information.

With kind regards,

Frank Bastiaens
